1969: The founding years
1969 marked the birth of the livestock trading company Josef Venneker. On their Westphalian farm in Südkirchen, Josef and Hildegard Venneker founded a livestock marketing business. Starting with just one trailer, farmer Josef Venneker initially sold the animals from his own farm – and it was a success. Soon, farmers from the neighborhood wanted him to market their animals as well, and so the livestock trade from the Venneker farm grew steadily.
The family gradually expanded the trading and transport operations. A second and third livestock trailer followed. The farm increasingly transformed into a hub for breeding and slaughter animals – laying the foundation for a company that today employs over 200 people.

Today: Main site
After 49 years at the old location, a modern main site was established in 2018 on five hectares along the L 810 on the outskirts of Nordkirchen. From here, the Venneker Group serves breeders and finishers throughout Germany and neighboring countries – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Over 200 employees – commercial specialists, IT experts, logistics staff, professional drivers, and mechanics – contribute to its success. In 2022, the first solar-powered truck went into operation, and the same year saw EMAS certification. In 2023, the digital customer portal was launched. In 2024, the site was completed with a new workshop and washing hall.
Three generations — now led by Nils Venneker
With Nils Venneker, son of Albert Venneker, the third generation of the family has been active since 2017. He leads the group on the L 810 in Nordkirchen — together with over 200 employees in the livestock trading, logistics, and nature divisions. The experience from 55+ years of family business is now combined with a clear view forward: digital customer portal, solar-powered truck, EMAS validation — tools that measurably improve day-to-day operations for the approximately 800 partner farms in the Münsterland region and beyond.
